Earth Needs A Hug

This tutorial & tag was inspired by
my oldest son. He said this a few days ago
& I thought he was so right. The earth doesn
need a hug or a million for that matter.
I kept the tag simple because I thought
something like this should be simple.

Earth Needs A Hug

Any resemblance to another
tutorial is purely coincidental.
For this tutorial, I’m using
a tube by Sue Miller. I purchased the tube
when she sold at MyTagArt which has closed.
You can now purchase her tubes at UYA

Supplies:
Tube of choice.
No outside supplies needed
Mura's Meister Copies Plugin

Open a 600x600 new image.
Open your tube of choice.

Select your Ellipse tool
to draw out a circle.
Stroke width 3
Stroke color -select
a color from tube.
Fill null

Draw out a good sized circle
on your new image.
Object align center in canvas
Convert to raster.

Now click inside the circle
with your magic wand tool.
Selections modify expand by 2

Add a new raster layer.
Fill with a different color from
your tube.
Move the fill layer under the
circle outline layer.

Select your font tool.
Using a simple, easy to read font,
and stroke width 0, I used font size 14.
type out a saying of choice. I used
THE EARTH NEEDS A HUG.
Convert to raster once typed.

Apply Muras Meister Copies
Tiling with tile gap 2

Paste your tube between the two
layers of the circle.
Duplicate the tube layer once.
Move the tube copy layer up to the top
in the layer palette.

Back on the original tube,
selections invert & press delete.
Select none.

On the tube copy,
erase the parts of the tube showing
past the circle.

Add a drop shadow to the circle
outline & the original tube layers.
2,2,50,5 Black

Select your preset shape tool.
( This is found with the ellipse tool )
Draw out a small heart.
If needed, change its color after
you convert to raster.

Using Mura's Meister again,
this time you want to encircle.
After making the hearts in a circle,
resize 145 or as needed.
It may vary on the heart size.

Move the heart circle layer to the bottom
of the tag.
You want the top of the hearts to be peeking
out from underneath the circle frame.

Now for the last ellipse circle.
This one is to do the circle text.
Draw out a circle slightly larger then the original
circle.
Don't convert to raster yet.
Select your font tool.
I did size 22 & no stroke width.

Position your cursor by the circle.
Once you get a semi circle under the A ,
start typing out your words. They should
encircle around the tag.

Once you have the text as you want it,
Go to the layer palette, and on the circle
text layer, and unhide the layers of it.
On the circle itself, hide it by clicking
on the eye symbol.

Now hide the rest of the layers for the text
layer.
Move the circle text layer under your
tube copy layer in the layer palette.

Merge layers visible.
Resize 88%
Add copyright info & name.
Save as png.
Thanks for trying my tutorial.
